    day 19: cartoon me

    i took richard's idea: http://richardsplanet.posterous.com/gimping-0
    and tried to make cartoon versions of myself, but i don't think i was
    so successful:



    i had trouble reducing the color palette in elements. i tried
    posterizing, and also converting to grayscale, then posterizing, then
    setting a new color index.

    i like these, especially the top one. it looks like fun to play around in photoshop. i came across these photos on Flickr today...the girl reminds me of you. how about trying to give yourself different eye/hair colors in photoshop? have you done that before?

    Tough, isn't it? But I think they came out well. I like the middle one, though I think it would be better with the bottom one's skin colour.

    It makes me happy you tried.

    thanks for the comments yall! sorry, i'm a bit behind in posting and replying to comments...

    @robinde: yeah, it's fun to play around in pshop. thanks for the photos, i can see what you mean, and i think it'd be cool to give diff hair/eye colors, i'll give it a try sometime. i've always wanted green, blue, or purple eyes... :)

    i'm excited to be doing tad for the 4th year in a row! i don't have any grand plans or a theme planned this year but want to try making a variety of things, similar to projects i have done in the past: plush toys, refashioned garments, sculpey figurines, photography, drawings and illustrations, and other miscellaneous things i've been meaning to do/wanting to try.
